Tux

By Moonbeam McQueen

Tom’s cat hates me again. It’s doing all of this mean stuff that really hurts my feelings. I’m so nice to him. He sleeps on our pillows, and he plays with my hands while I’m sleeping, but lately, he’s just been obnoxious. The other night, he bit me while I was sleeping. It was a playful bite, but he knows better. I did find out that I can throw a cat really, really far.

Did you know that cats make love bites? That is, when they love you, they nip at you, or bite you? They don’t know how hard to not bite, but it’s a love bite nonetheless. All my cats have done this. It’s never been a mean thing, and often while I’m petting them and they are purring. Likely Tux really doesn’t hate you but loves you. That’s my guess. But I wasn’t there, so I really don’t know.

Oh no! Now I feel terrible! They didn’t feel like love bites, I promise. But after reading your comment, I did start speaking to Tux again. Maybe we can slowly rebuild our relationship.

Don’t feel terrible! Cats understand EVERYTHING! Every moment is a new beginning with the cats. Dogs, on the other hand, are a little more human-like in their neuroses.

I bet Tux doesn’t want you to get married! He wants Tom to be all HIS!

Tux is usually like a toddler. He’s adorable. But then he gets on these weird, aggressive jags, and he’s just obnoxious.

You have no idea how right you are about him, David. He’s so jealous!

  6. Botmo Says:

Yeah. It was a love bite, but a little wicked. Tux knows he was being selfishly wicked, but he wanted you to wake up right then and fawn all over him. And I don’t believe that “cats have no memory” crap that some “expert” is getting press with. Oh, no. They remember plenty and they hold grudges. Their attributes aren’t the same as ours, but that isn’t the one that makes them different.

He’s a doll baby, Botmo. He just goes through these phases– and you’re right, he’s being selfishly wicked when he does it. I call him a “love slut” when he gets this way– he wants affection on demand, even when we’re sleeping.
Tom now sleeps with a pillow above the one he sleeps on, so that Tux won’t lay right on top of his head.

Tux is like a toddler, and I love how he follows us around the house, checking out everything we do. He’s curious and cute, and I can say all of this right now, because he’s not doing the love slut biting thing these days.

P.S. I know what you’re saying about cats having great memories. I once saw a thing on T.V. where a toddler kept pulling a cat’s tail. Later, the little fellow was toddling down a hallway, and the cat jumped out and knocked him down. It was hilarious, but it was revenge.
